How to Play
First, a state lights up. Choose its name from the buttons. When you get it right, a capital star appears. Then choose the capital city.
Misses are friendly: you’ll hear a soft bouncy sound and see the correct answer plus a fun fact. States you miss take a short break before coming back.
Race the States gives you 4 minutes. It skips the big zoom animations and keeps the map close-up so you can fly.
The map uses U.S. state GeoJSON/TopoJSON files found for this prototype, plus D3 and TopoJSON for SVG map rendering, projection handling, and interactions.
State facts: uploaded educator CSV.
State geometry: us-atlas states-albers TopoJSON derived from U.S. Census cartographic boundary files.
Capital points: approximate longitude/latitude coordinate file included with this prototype.
Libraries: D3 and TopoJSON Client loaded from public CDNs.
Audio: browser-generated Web Audio tones; no external sound files.
